Introductory Course in Statistics
University of Hertfordshire

This course is aimed at all who need to learn about the basics of
analysing statistical data.
It is particularly suited to postgraduates and researchers who wish to
gain skills in conducting basic analyses of data from surveys and
experiments.
In computer sessions you will learn how to undertake analyses in Excel
and SPSS for Windows.
The course will take place on the University of Hertfordshire's
de Havilland campus, a new state-of-the-art facility housing the
University's Business School.
The main topics covered by the course are:
*Excel
*SPSS
*Probability
*The Normal distribution
*Confidence intervals
*Classical hypothesis testing
*Non-parametric alternatives to classical hypothesis testing
*Simple regression
*Introduction to multiple regression
*Survey design

Course fee: 345 pounds including zero V.A.T.
