Barney (cc to list in case anyone is interested)
Fraid I didn't record it (though it was very good), but there is another
programme about the miner's strike on BBC2 on Tuesday 27th Jan between 9 and
10.30pm. Here's the stuff from the listings page:
Twenty years ago parts of Britain were at war. Mining villages were consumed
by violence and hatred as pickets fought running battles with police and
striking and working miners were locked on confrontation. With powerful
interviews, evocative archive and dramatic reconstructions this special
documentary follows the lives of five young miners from one village through
a torrid but exciting year. The programme captures the extraordinary
passions unleashed by the strike and examines how it changed Britain
forever.
Contains some strong language.
May be a suitable replacement??
