The canal boat weighing machine is , or was, at the Waterways Museum, Stoke Bruerne. I think there *might* be one at the Black Country Museum too but its a long time since I was there.
The Tron reference was really to steelyards, I am after the sort of weighbridge that sits in the road and one drives lorries onto.
(Except when they are short of staff and has a sign saying No Weigh Man)
Thanks also for the stripy foundations replies.. Any more , post 13th c? We have one on the site of a 16th century mansion but supporting 19th c bricks and we would like it to be from an even earlier building
