I am Tsuyoshi, PhD candidate in KIT, Japan. I was 2001-2002 MSc Student
Now, I am trying to adapt correlation coefficient between global and
local to analysing chronological evolution process on Paris.
As to this correlation, Bill wrote,
"The 'intelligiblitlity correlation between conectivity and global
integration is used here rather than the 'synergy' correlation bwtween
local and global because the systems are initially too small to respond
realistically to local integration analysis. The argument would however
hold up for 'synergy' analysis."
in the endnotes of 'A theory of the city as object'
I believe this synergy analysis is very useful for my research.
As long as I know, it was discussed in Irini's paper for sss4 "Heraklion
and Chania: a study of the evolution of their spatial and functional
Besides this paper, if somebody knows another paper discussing this
analysis, please let me know.
I am really interested in how researchers interpret this analysis.
