Well said, Sanjay! As an independent security consultant much of my work
revolves around the design of CCTV systems. I have developed some basic
techniques using the 'trueSpace' 3D graphics modelling application and
TurboCAD (about as capable as AutoCad and ~20% of the price). Early
examples can be seen in an article that I had publishes in the CCTV
industry press at:

If anyone here is working in CCTV, security or CPTED (Crime Prevention
Through Environmental Design), or knows of anyone who is, then I will
greatly appreciate an opportunity to exchange ideas with them. With all due
respect to others in my industry (here comes the veiled insult) no-one
bother to develop and practise truly 'computer-aided-design', as far as I
am aware. To them C.A.D. is a replacement for a sharp pencil, i.e. merely
computer aided drafting.
As an 'outsider' I find this forum fascinating. I wish that the necessities
of running my own business didn't prevent me from spending time learning
about and following your cutting-edge research.
Kind regards,
