hello,
am i the only one, who originally understood johannes's posting as in
no way critical of ana's text or detrimental to it? to me it simply
attempted to clarify the ethymological usages and definitions of the
terms producer (as somebody who creates something new out of whatever
material there is) and curator (as a museal carer for already existing
objects), which seems to me a very valid contribution to the recent
discussion of the different roles of curators and the different acts of
curating on this list (under the heading: 'curating a symposium'). the
introduction of the term producer might be a very clarifying addition
to that discussion.
(and i guess that this is why johannes left number 2 of the webster
list out: 2 is a thing, a generator, while we were talking about people
and their roles and tasks.)
best,
axel
