Dear Tim,
DigiCULT's recently published Technology Watch Reports devote chapters to
Mobile Access to Cultural Information Resources and RFID (Smart Labels and
Smart Tags), and personalisation, PDAs, and RFID have also been the subject
of a number of articles in DigiCULT.Info, our electronic newsletter.
These publications are searchable, and all are available free online from
http://www.digicult.info/pages/techwatch.php
I hope that this helps you find the sort of information you are looking for.

Subject: Use of PDAs / RFID tags
I am interested to learn of any recent evaluation of use of PDAs for
personalised trails in museums, possibly linked to RFID tags. Most of the
information I can find on the internet relates to technical capabilities: I
am much less interested in this than how museum visitors respond to this
method of interpretation (especially UK secondary schools and lifelong
learners).
My apologies if this is well-trodden ground for MCG - I am new to this list.
