Postcodes project
Invitation for statements of interest from developers
The Museum of London is creating a new local history feature for adults
which will form part of the Learning section. The site will consist of
120 pages profiling selected museum objects for every London postcode
are, with a map based navigation system. In addition the feature will
include an easy to use authoring system which community groups will be
able to use remotely to produce pages about their own local area, which
will then be uploaded to the main site and accommodated into the main
structure.
An experienced web design agency is sought to develop the site. The full
brief for this project will be issued to shortlisted companies when they
are invited to interview. The Museum expects all new features to be WAI
single A compatible, and to meet the in-house design and technical
guidelines. As the Museum already supports existing systems including MS
CMS2002 and ArcIMS there are also guidelines on preferred software
solutions.
The postcode project website is scheduled to go live in the week
beginning 30.5.2005, and the development budget is expected to be in
the region of ?15,000 depending on the final specification for the
authoring system.
