Speakers: Charles Hughes, eManagement Limited, and David Edwards, Worshipful
Company of Information Technologists (WCIT)
Charles Hughes will talk about the history of the livery movement from 1000
to 2000 and how WCIT has interpreted this tradition for a 21st century
industry.
David Edwards will talk about the Company's charitable and educational
programme with examples of some of the projects it is currently involved
with.
Charles Hughes is a director of eManagement Limited, promoting the
implications of e-commerce and relationships between the public and private
sectors. His career included 12 years in director roles with ICL and over
two years with the Department for Trade and Industry as Project Director for
the Information Society Initiative.
David Edwards is the Trust Director of the Worshipful Company of Information
Technologists with responsibility for developing and managing the Company's
educational and charitable programmes. Before moving to the WCIT, he was the
chief executive of FRG, a childcare charity, and his previous career
includes work as a consultant, a manager in social services and journalism.
CILIP in London evening meetings are free and open to all with a
professional interest in the topic. They are a follow-up to meetings held by
CILIP's London and Home Counties Branch and IIS Southern Branch.
