**Apologies for cross-posting**
Dear All,
In order to try and widen the focus of the lis-infoliteracy jiscmail
list I have changed the description and scope of the list to emphasise
the cross-sectoral nature of information literacy. These now read:
"Lis-infoliteracy - Information literacy and information skills teaching
discussion list'
"Lis-infoliteracy will provide a discussion forum for librarians and
information professionals involved in information literacy and
information skills teaching across all sectors. It will cover all
delivery methods and issues concerning user education and explore the
sharing of resources at a national level. Formerly lis-infoskills."
As it stands, the list membership (circa 900 members in total) is
predominantly made up of staff from FE and HE (78% from UK FE & HE) with
other sectors being represented at a very low level (eg 2% from
government libraries, 2% from nhs libraries, 1% from school libraries).
As the main communication tool of the newly formed CILIP Information
Literacy Group (part of the Community Services Group) I am keen that
interested parties from all sectors join the list, if you have links to
any individuals or groups that you think would be interested, please
feel free to forward this email. The CSG Information Literacy group will
be endeavouring to widen participation across all sectors as part of its
remit.

Best wishes,
