Blackwell Publishing is a leading publisher in the scientific, academic
and medical fields, producing over 700 journals across a wide range of
subjects. We're looking for a new Journal Sales Executive to grow and
manage sales in our Academic, Corporate, Government and Medical sectors.

Day-to-day you'll identify opportunities in journal sales and negotiate
licences with university consortia, pharmaceutical companies and other
major customers. You'll also build productive relationships with
existing clients and promote our online journals service, Blackwell
Synergy. Together with the Library Marketing Manager, you'll coordinate
campaigns throughout southern Europe, including giving sales
presentations, arranging on-site demos and attending major industry
conferences, workshops and seminars. In addition, it's important you can
produce regular reports on sales and trends for the International
Journal Sales Director and Global Journal Sales Team.
To take on this challenging and varied role, you'll be educated to at
least A-Level standard and have at least two years' sales experience,
with excellent communication skills and the confidence, organisation and
motivation to work under your own initiative. Fluency in a second
language such as Spanish or French is also essential. Knowledge of the
publishing industry and the online journals market would be
advantageous, though not essential provided you have a proven track
record in sales negotiation.
