Colleagues interested in maritime boundary delimitation may wish to take
note of a major new study by int-boundaries member Nuno Antunes entitled
"Towards the Conceptualisation of Maritime Delimitation: Legal and
Technical Aspects of a Political Process". The book is published in
Martinus Nijhoff's Publications on Ocean Development series and can be
ordered through the Nijhoff website at http://www.brill.nl.
The book is based on Dr Antunes' PhD thesis at the University of Durham
which was completed in 2002. Without wishing to embarrass the author,
there can be little doubt that it represents a significant contribution
to the literature on maritime boundary delimitation and I suspect it
will soon become required reading for lawyers and technicians alike. In
addition to over 430 pages of analysis, the book contains a useful
primer on technical aspects of maritime delimitation and more than a
hundred maps and diagrams, all of which are also included in colour in a
CD-ROM accompanying the book.
Congratulations to Nuno on the publication of this important new book.
