The DPC is delighted to announce three new full members.
The University of Oxford has provided leadership in the development of digital
services through its Oxford Digital Library Service and Oxford e-Science
Centre. As one of six legal deposit libraries, Oxford is also poised to
address the implications of the extension of legal deposit to electronic
publications. Ronald Milne joined the Board of Directors at the Board meeting
on 26th October.
The Digital Curation Centre was established in March 2004 and will be formally
launched on 5th November. The DCC was established with initial funding from
JISC and the e-Science Core Programme and will make a significant contribution
to the development of practical digital preservation services and research.
The DPC and DCC will work together in a number of areas and we look forward to
close involvement with them. Peter Burnhill joined the DPC Board of Directors
on 26th October.
The National Library of Scotland has been an associate member of the DPC from
the beginning but have now applied for full membership of the DPC. This
application was warmly endorsed by Board members at the meeting of 26th
October and we look forward to their increased involvement in shaping the
direction of the DPC.
