State aids: Commission approves Italian tax breaks to SMEs
investing in information technology projects (14 October 2004)
The European Commission authorised today under the EU state aid rules the so-called Tecno-Tremonti Law in favour of small and medium enterprises investing in projects in the field of information technology. The scheme will be in force until the end of the current year with an estimated budget of € 208 million.

The EC-Bridge conference on "Research Networks, Advanced Networks and Broadband Solutions", funded by the European Commission, is an international co-operation event addressing the European and Chinese visions on future eInfrastructures, Research Networks and Advanced Applications. The conference benefits from the active support of the European Commission and the Chinese Government. Participation is free. The conference programme provides a mix of plenary presentations and parallel sessions on the following themes: Network Infrastructures; Middleware; IPv6; Network Security; Broadband + Wireless Access; Grids and shared resources; Joint Collaborations; Participation in EC programmes.
