I do most of my development on Mac OS X, whether it be in Fortran, C,
python or any other language. Usually I deploy on other systems like
Linux, but I only do the last stages of development on these systems,
generally via the command line.
Apple provides free development tools (Xcode), including a good IDE and
debugger (based on gdb), and integration with CVS (subversion is
coming). I use IBMs XLF compiler, which integrates with Xcode.
