Dear colleagues,
We are shortly migrating from Telepath to Apex on our laboratory
computer. We currently dial in from home at night, weekends and bank
holidays to authorise and comment on results. For this purpose
Hyperterminal on all versions of windows is adequate as Telepath is not
very demanding. Unfortunately, Apex requires VT320 emulation with use
of function keys which hyperterm won't emulate adequately. Within
Hospital we use teraterm which operates satisfactorily for both systems
but doesn't have a dialler so cannot be used easily for dial in access.
Has anyone using Apex, or a similar system, found a terminal emulator
with dialler and function key utilisation (preferably freeware) which
solves this problem ? Alternatively, a way of using teraterm with an
external dialler, could sort the problem. Can anyone who has solved
this or a similar problem contact us to stop us re-inventing the wheel?
Systems on home computers range from Win 98 to XP and Macs!
Many thanks. All replies direct or via mailbase gratefully accepted.
