Dear Folks
We use a home-made measuring board, but have found that you can get
excellent results doing metrics on large bones by using a tool made for
tree diameter metrics (basically a huge set of calipers). Try

Subject: Re: [ZOOARCH] Measuring board
Try Paleo-tech concepts - very nice board but very expensive -
particulary when
the customs add a huge amount of tax. www.paleo-tech.com.
Alternatively try companies that provide the tools for measuring (human)
baby
lengths, they have some funky foldable measuring boards, and a PEDIATRIC
MEASURING ROD which used on a bench would be as good at a measureing box
and
much cheaper at 99 dollars see
http://www.miami-med.com/Height_Measuring_Devices.htm for an example.
They
also do digitial measuring boxes....
Or make it yourself....very easy with bits of board, a block of wood and
some
gridded permatrace.
