There are several pubulications that discuss postcranial elements, but some are out of print.
Olsen, S.J. 1960. Post-cranial skeletal characters of Bison and Bos. Papers of the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology. Vol. XXXV, No.4
Balkwill, D. and S. Cumbaa. 1992. A guide to the identification of postcranial bones of Bos taurus and Bison bison. Syllogeus, No. 71. Canadian Musuem of Nature.
These seem to be the best. You might also try the following:
Lawrence, B. 1951. Post-cranial skeletal characters of deer, pronghorn, and sheep-goat with notes on Bos and Bison. Papers of the Peabody Museum of American Archaeology and Ethnology. Vol. XXXV, No.3
Brown, C. and Gustafson, C. 1979. A key to postcranial skeletal remains of cattle/Bison, elk and horse. Reports of Investigations, No. 57. Laboratory of Anthropology, Washington State University, Pullman.
If you here of any other general postcranial guides I would be interested in the references. I will be comparing ungulate vertebral columns for my thesis.
