UN Road Safety Week and World Health Day
UN Road Safety Week 5-11 April 2004 on Aggressive Driving Behaviour and
World Health Day 7 April 2004, slogan: 'Road Safety is no Accident'.
UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has responded to Resolution 57/309 Global
road safety crisis with a 12 page report and recommendations for actions
to address the magnitude of the problem. The World Health Organisation is
launching its World Report on Road Injury Prevention on 7 April 2004 in
Paris.
RoadPeace is participating in the 5 April UN Road Safety Seminar in
Geneva, as well as planning a series of contributions to this week of
worldwide activities:
8 April - Inaugural RoadPeace Lecture -
"Weapons of Mass Destruction and Global Indifference to 1 million Deaths
Each Year in Road Crashes" by John Whitelegg
Venue - City Hall, The Queen's Walk, SE1
Time - 6-8pm
