Dear colleagues - I hope you might be able to help....
Attitudes to Road Pricing - Assessing the Evidence Base
an international literature review commissioned by the Department for Transport
In July 2003 the Secretary of State for Transport, Alastair Darling MP,
announced that the Government would undertake a feasibility study into
national road pricing. As part of this study a project has been awarded to
the Centre for Transport & Society at the University of the West of
England, Bristol. The aim of the project is to conduct an extensive
literature review of international evidence concerning the attitudes of the
public and businesses to road pricing. Over a 2-month period (concluding by
7 May 2004) the research team will assemble a research
compendiumsummarising the evidence base and produce a published report that
will highlight and discuss key issues and identify significant gaps in the
evidence base.
Key to the success of this work will be identifying and obtaining published
evidence within and outwith the public domain. If you can help then please
send details of contact points and articles to the project manager,
Professor Glenn Lyons, at
