ROAD TRAFFIC STATISTICS QUALITY REVIEW: USER CONSULTATION
As you may already be aware, the Department for Transport (DfT) is
undertaking a Quality Review of its road traffic and road length
statistics. The review is part of the National Statistics programme
introduced to help ensure that these and other official statistical
outputs are fit for purpose. It is therefore an important pillar
supporting the continuing improvement in the quality and value of such
outputs. Further details of the Review are on the DfT website:
http://www.dft.gov.uk/stellent/groups/dft_transstats/documents/page/dft_tra
nsstats_030607.hcsp
One of the first steps in the review is to find out how our statistics are
used and what users' requirements are.
The attached questionnaire is being sent to you as a key user and I would
like to encourage you to participate to the fullest extent. By doing so,
you will help us to identify areas on which the review should focus.
Your opinions will be extremely valuable and could greatly influence the
outcomes of the review. Please feel free to forward the questionnaire to
others who you think might be interested.
The deadline for returning the questionnaire is 30 November 2004 but
returns would be appreciated as soon as possible. Additional written
submissions are welcome - by 31 December 2004 - if there are any issues
that you wish to raise in more detail. Should you have any questions
about the questionnaire, or review, please contact Louise Buckle (tel 020
7944 6389) at [log in to unmask]
Yours sincerely
