Greetings, all.
I'm confused: can someone explain to me the difference between MIPS
and OSF1? I know they're both unixy, but do they differ in the kernels?
Specifically, does one or either of them have VMS-like system calls?
The reason I ask is that in SLALIB, one of the platform-dependent
files is wait.f, the _vax version of which has code like
JSTAT=SYS$SCHDWK(,,IDT,)
IF (.NOT.JSTAT) CALL LIB$STOP(%VAL(JSTAT))
(you know, the sort of stuff that really _ought_ to be written in
capitals). Those look like VMS system calls -- fine -- but are they
also OSF1 calls? MIPS calls? Or do OSF1 and MIPS have posix system
calls only?
Baffled of m4-land,
Norman
