Research contract with Design Advantage
Design Advantage is seeking a suitably qualified person to undertake
research to contribute to its aim of developing a strategy for design
support in the West Midlands. Central to this project is the need to
increase collaboration between Schools of Design in the region and to
enhance relationships between academe and industry. The project is
funded by the Regional Development Agency, Advantage West Midlands, and
is based in the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design at Staffordshire
University, Stoke on Trent, UK
The successful applicant will be part of the Core Team delivering the
project which comprises senior design staff and an administrator. You
will mainly be involved in shaping the research process and then
implementing the research by collecting, analysing and presenting data.
A major requirement of the role will be to travel around the region to
interview academics and others providing design education and training,
designers and people in local businesses.
You will have at least a first degree in a possible range of disciplines

confidently with a wide range of people is also required. This is an
opportunity for someone at the start of their research career to work in
a supportive environment and develop their research skills and
experience.
