hello old friends,
as an archaeologist by training and a retired artist in the field
you're struggling to define I think there's one more component to
think of:
Jeffrey Zeldman - some guy - wrote a book about web standards (in many
ways pertinent to the discussion of digital preservation and
restauration) and spoke convincigly of 'forward compatibility'. He's
looking at a capacity of corporate web sites to behave well with new
browsers that hit the market (and says things like '99% of Websites
are Obsolete').
I would like to suggest that any deffinition (and specially label)
that you guys find appropriate should not so much be focused on what
kinds of art was done so far but on what art we will make after the
expression hits the world.
(as for the subject line- do we have a calculation of those infamous 2
cents in Euro, and wouldn't a map of different ISP pricing accross EU
be a nice visual reminder that not all is still level in our new
homeland?)
Salutes
Vuk
