ISEA2004
Baltic Sea, August 14th-22nd

Registration for what is shaping up to be one of the most exciting new media
events of the year, ISEA2004 (August 14th-22nd), is now starting. For the
next four weeks, you have the chance to register in advance for lowered
prices.

Because of the limited availability, we recommend booking early at
http://www.isea2004.net/tickets as it will not only secure your access to
the all-inclusive ISEA2004 cruise, but save up to 30% on all tickets.

ISEA 2004 EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

ISEA2004 symposium on electronic arts and research kicks off in Helsinki,
Finland, with Interfacing Sound programme at the electronic music festival
Koneisto. On 15 August, some 1400 ISEA2004 participants board a cruiser
ferry, the luxurious Silja Opera. The first part of the trip, the
Interfacing Sound Cruise from Helsinki to Stockholm, mixes clubbing, sound
art, installations, interactive games and sonic experiments in an
electrified environment. The journey continues under the file name Networked
Experience to Aland Islands and on to Tallinn. Themes in Tallinn comprise
Wearable Experience, Geopolitics of Media and Critical Interdisciplines:
research, science, art and collaboration. These will be explored in a range
of conferences, exhibitions, concerts, live performances and club events.
ISEA2004 culminates in Helsinki with conferences, exhibitions, performances
and works in public spaces exploring the themes Wireless Experience,
Histories of the New, Critical Interaction Design and Open Source and
Software as Culture.

ISEA2004 symposium creates a pleasant setting for social and professional
encounters while uniting artists, scholars and researchers from all over the
world to debate ideas and experience artworks in a critical and reflective
environment. The timing of the event is ideal: August is the most beautiful
month to visit the Nordic and Baltic region!
