First Announcement
------------------
The fascinating physics of reactive collisions and fragmentation, and
particularly the investigation of control mechanisms of such quantum
dynamical processes will be in the focus of the 329th Wilhelm and
Else Heraeus Seminar 'Manipulation of Few-Body Quantum Dynamics'.
Speakers from leading groups in the
field will be assembled in order to give an in-depth overview of
current experimental and theoretical research activities.
We plan to arrange for sessions on the following topics:
- many-body fragmentation
- controlled reactions
- charge transfer
- laser-assisted collisions
- atoms and molecules in strong fields
- molecular quantum state control
- laser manipulation
- cluster dynamics
Invited speakers include:
Thomas Baumert (U Kassel, D)
Tobias Brixner (U of California, Berkeley, USA)
Lew Cocke (KSU Manhattan (KS), USA)
Brett Depaola (KSU Manhattan (KS), USA)
Alexander Dorn (MPI-K Heidelberg, D)
Markus Drescher (U Bielefeld, D)
Fleming Crim (U Wisconsin, Madison, USA)
Ekaterina Eremina (MBI Berlin, D)
Hanspeter Helm (U Freiburg, D)
Ronnie Hoekstra (KVI Groningen, NL)
Till Jahnke (U Frankfurt, D)
Christoph Keitel (U Freiburg, D)
Manfred Lein (MPI-PKS Dresden, D)
Jan-Michael Rost (MPI-PKS Dresden, D)
Alejandro Saenz (Humboldt U Berlin, D)
Stephan Schlemmer (R. and B. Sackler Laboratory, Leiden, NL)
Stefan Schmatz (U Göttingen, D)
Henrik Stapelfeldt (U Aarhus, DK)
Frank Stienkemeier (U Bielefeld, D)
Walter Strunz (U Freiburg, D)
Richard Taieb (U Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, FR)
Uwe Thumm (KSU Manhattan (KS), USA)
Dave Townsend (State U New York, USA)
Wim van der Zande (U Nijmegen, NL)
Bernd von Issendorf (U Freiburg, D)
Andreas Wolf (MPI-K Heidelberg, D)
Daniel Zajfman (Weizmann Inst. Rehovot, IL)
Zohar Amitay (Technion, Haifa, IL)
It is the aim of the meeting to foster seminal discussions and
collaborations between experimentalists
and theorists working in this rapidly developing field.
To this end the programme will include invited talks, a
poster session and a round-table discussion on the prospects
of quantum control.
In particular, young researchers (PhD students and postdocs) are
encouraged to attend the meeting, to present their works and to
exchange their ideas.
Pre-registration
----------------
People interested in attending the workshop are encouraged to
pre-register at their earlist convenience. If the number of
pre-registered and invited participants will exceed the
capacities of the Physikzentrum we will have to arrange for
other accomodation (possibly at higher rates).
Conference fee (including accomodation and full board
in the Physikzentrum): Eur 150
PhD students, Postdocs and researches from less favoured
countries can apply for support.
We prefer that you pre-register by completing the form on
the web page http://www.pt.tu-clausthal.de/qd/heraeus/index.htm
