Dear All
I am looking for a Ph.D. student to start work next September/October
(2004) on an experimental investigation of dissociative electron
attachment to radicals and unstable molecules such as OH, CF2 etc. and
application of the results to plasma diagnostics
Application is open to applicants from any country within the European
Union - including the 10 states which will join in May (Cyprus, Czech
Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia,
Slovenia). Full details of the project and how to make an application are
presented on the web page;
http://www.qub.ac.uk/mp/ampr/projects/molecules/tfield/esf-taf.htm
The deadline for applications is 30 April 2004.
I would be most grateful if you could mention this studentship to anyone
who you think might be interested. A brief text advert is appended to the
bottom of this message,
Tom Field

ESF Ph.D. position
School of Mathematics and Physics
An ESF studentship is available to work with Tom Field in the Atomic and
Molecular Physics Division within the School of Maths and Physics at
Queen's University Belfast. The results of new atomic and molecular
physics experiments (electron attachment to unstable molecules) will be
harnessed to develop a new diagnostic tool for plasma processing.
This studentship covers all university fees and also provides a
maintenance grant of 10,500 pounds sterling per year (equivalent to 875
pounds sterling per month) - These sums are tax-free. The Studentship is
open to applicants from any country within the European Union - including
the 10 states which will join in May (Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia,
Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia). Full
