Hi Helen
I have been responsible for collaborating with 'Bodyline Fitness' Leeds City
Council, Local Authority to develop a health and fitness programme for
pregnant and postnatal women. Maternity Services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals
NHS Trust are very keen on partnership working. The programme runs weekly,
Tues 1-3pm Antenatal, Thurs 1-3 pm postnatal. The first hour involves a
health related discussion, then a break, then low impact exercises,
pilate-based exercises and finally relaxation.
it has evaluated very well and we have measured the mums-to-be and newly
delivered mums self esteem's pre and post attending the programme and they
have increased. Many of the mums then go on to continue exercising in the
mainstream under a 'Prescription for Activity' project for the next 3
months.
If you would like further information you can contact me directly on 07786

Best Wishes
Mary Steen
