My first thoughts when seeing the .museum domain was why not .mus ? This
certainly would have been less to type and would also fit well with other
European languages.
I believe to register such a domain was about £90. More expensive than other
domains. A perception that the .museum domain might not survive will also
discourage people from adopting or at least registering their museum. It's a
shame since I believe that having the .museum domain controlled by museum
world would be very worthwhile.

Subject: Internet Hosts
In January 2004, there were 233,101,481 internet hosts (IP addresses which
have been assigned a name) worldwide.
Of these, there were just 9 hosts allocated within the top level domain name
".museum"

Any thoughts as to why this should be?
