Dear friends and colleagues:
UK Museums and the Web Conference
Web Enabled: Museums, Online Access and Ability
(http://www.museumscomputergroup.org.uk/meetings/1_2004.htm)
The UK Museums and the Web Conference will be held at the University of
Leicester from 9:30-5:45 on Thursday 22 April, and will be hosted and
coordinated by the Department of Museum Studies
(http://le.ac.uk/museumstudies).
We are calling for papers for a session on 'The Web as an Agent of Social
Inclusion'.
The session will be an opportunity to showcase projects that have engaged
directly with social inclusion, and that have, more specifically, used the
Web as an agent of social inclusion. If you have been part of a project
that has used the Web in progressive, innovative ways we are very keen to
hear from you.
The session will be hosted by Richard Sandell of the Department of Museum
Studies, editor of 'Museums, Society, Inequality' and co-author
of 'Including Museums', and is scheduled for 3:35-4:25 pm on 22 April 2004.
If you are interested in participating in this session, please reply to
Nadia Arbach (e-mail [log in to unmask] or phone 01962 891 142) with a
short summary of the project and how it has used the Web in an innovative
way to support social inclusion.
With best regards,
Nadia Arbach
