Yes I agree that for some reason a lot of postings are negative which is
a shame.

I do however think it was v poor that the information community was
misled into thinking that Aslib's problems could be due to 9/11!! This
defies logical sense and leads to a general sense of mistrust.

Perhaps when the accountants pour over the balance sheets they will be
able to ascertain the true picture. I suspect that action should have
been taken much earlier by those who knew the real position and
presumably left loyal staff in the dark.

Nicole
Can I just say that the generally bitchy and negative tone of a lot of
the postings on this list (not just about ASLIB), doesn't reflect the
outlook of the majority of CILIP members, who will I believe be saddened
to see ASLIB so troubled, and especially concerned that some sort of
resolution should be found for ASLIB's loyal staff, especially at this
time of year.
Very best wishes
Bruce

On behalf of all the Aslib staff, it has been sad to see all the
comments displayed.

I am pleased to say that this isn't representative of everyone in the
profession: we have had a tremendous amount of support and there is
obviously a widespread desire for Aslib to continue its valuable
contribution to the profession.
