THE INTERNATIONAL LIBRARY AND INFORMATION GROUP OF

Presents a half-day seminar:
Being Confident about Copyright – Interpreting the Law
Successfully
Thursday October 21st 2004 at 1.30pm for 2.00pm start
The British Library Conference Centre, Euston Road,
London, NW1 2DB.
Library, information and archive professional staff
occupy an important pivotal role – to provide access
for their users to a range of materials in this
digital age and, when providing copies, to ensure
those users and others are following current laws.
The EU Copyright Directive was implemented in 2003.
Come and hear experiences of using this law with:
Graham Cornish, international expert in the field of
copyright, and
Andrew Braid, The British Library’s expert in this
area.
Chaired by Paul Sturges, from Loughborough
University’s acclaimed Department of Information
Science, you will learn about:
· Information on recent cases and experience of
European Directives and what this means for libraries,
