INTRODUCTION
Personalisation is acknowledged as a useful approach to develop added value
services in several application areas. It can help users with different
characteristics, backgrounds and needs to get different types of content,
navigation support and personalise the services. In this context, an
understanding of human factors, such as gender, cognitive style,
personality, culture etc., is essential for implementing and delivering
effective personalisation.
This Special Issue aims to provide insight into how human factors can be
integrated into the design, development and implementation of personalized
systems, and investigate how human factors considerations influence the use
of personalized systems and services. Topics of interest may focus on, but
are not restricted to the following aspects related to human factors for
personalization:
- Methods and Techniques
- User Centred Evaluation
- Guidelines to Address Human Needs
- Integration of Human Factors
- Improvement of Accessibility
- User Modelling
- Information Seeking
- Search Strategies
- Learning Patterns
- Shopping Behaviours
- Special Needs
- Web Services
