I'm not entirely confident that A4C will bring the increase in pay that many
librarians are expecting - especially having seen the draft profiles. Wasn't
there indication from early implementer sites in England that jobs had been
downgraded? In addition, with a reduction in the number of public holidays,
and in the overtime/anti-social hours rates, many staff will be paid less
for working on fewer public holidays. Not forgetting that other staff will
have hours increased to 37.5, but not be paid any more for those extra
hours.
And in response to Carsten's point about trusts financial recovery, the
problems (in Scotland, & presumably the rest of the UK) have been caused
partly by the new doctor's contract & increasing drug bills, neither of
which are going to go away.
