I'm afraid I have to re-iterate what Malcolm says. I have worked in libraries for 27 years across all sectors and apart from the vacancies supplement Cilip has been of very little use to me. The training courses I find expensive and too far away, the salary guides, while well meaning, have little weight with employers because Cilip has little influence. Many colleagues I worked with in higher education were not members and I suspect the same is true of colleagues in the health sector. I am frustrated that there is little or no information about Agenda for Change coming from Cilip all the info. I have is from Unison. AfC has been rumbling on for many years why is Cilip looking at profiles and job descriptions now? Why not last year? Maybe we would not have been left in the dark with little or no guidance (apart from Unison) on how to put together this vital information?
