Thank you to everyone that offered assistance. It seems that there is no
national standard or agreement on CAT points, no central body
administering them and different universities rate
modules/qualifications etc differently. The Open University seems to
have the most comprehensive policy on cat points and you can see their
policy at http://www3.open.ac.uk/credit-transfer/index.shtm
CAT points are different to UCAS tariff points (used for university
admissions). You can see the tariff at
