Solicitation for Papers for a
John Rodgers Memorial Issue of the American Journal of Science.
AJS recently announced that it would like to publish a Special Issue in celebration of the life and career of John Rodgers.
One of John’s primary interests was in the tectonics of the Appalachians/Caledonides, and it might be fitting to compile a volume along the general theme of
NEW PERSPECTIVES IN APPALACHIAN/ CALEDONIAN GEOLOGY.
The editors are clearly looking for New Perspectives, not for historical Retrospectives, or summaries. If you are interested in contributing to such a volume, please let me know the title and authors of any volunteered papers. If there is enough interest, I will use your proposed contributions to assemble a tentative table of contents to submit to the editors of the AJS for their consideration to be published in a John Rodgers Special Issue. My goal is to submit a proposed table of contents by December 15. If they approve of the issue, AJS editors hope to publish the issue within 6 months of receipt of acceptable manuscripts. This makes a publication date of late 2005 to early 2006 very likely.
Please pass this on to others and other list servers that might reach John’s friends that my mailing may have missed.
Thank you in advance for your interest.
Apologies for multiple listings
