Hello,
I am part of team from three museums working on a proposal for a touring
exhibition. We are currently at the stage of finalising our ideas/ plan and
are putting together a grant bid.
As this project is a pilot for all three of the museums involved, we are
keen to ensure that it is well evaluated, amongst other things, to ensure
that we get it as right as possible for our target audiences, to find out if
it achieved what it was supposed to do and to enable us to develop more
effective projects in the future. We are considering using an external
evaluator to achieve this.
We are looking for advice:
* Have you worked with external evaluators before? If so, what went
well and what didn't go so well? What would you have done differently?
* Do you have experience in competitive tendering for such a role? If
so, do you have any hints/ tips arising from your experience?
* Are you a professional evaluator? If so, do you have any advice
'from the inside' as it were?
* Can you recommend any evaluators for us to approach?
It would be useful to hear about some of the more practical issues that you
will have had to deal with, e.g. contracts, level of involvement, etc.
I am happy to write up all comments I receive into one document and
distribute this to the list, I'll make this anonymous - but please do say if
you don't want any of your comments to be included in this at all.
Thanks very much
Bryony
