Croydon Museum Service are looking for two enthusiastic and experienced
family activity/demonstration session leaders for our fairgrounds
exhibition at the Clocktower.
Pleasurelands: 200 Years of Fun at the Fair* is a colourful, interactive
family-friendly exhibition at the Croydon Clocktower which runs from
Saturday 24 April - Sunday 5 September 2004. Visitors explore 200 years of
fairground spectacle and the reality of life behind the scenes.
The Big Wheel** cart offers fun activities and demonstrations about forces
and technology at fairgrounds targetted at families with children aged 3 to
10.
Duties
To deliver public sessions, using the Big Wheel** cart, as part of the
exhibition events programme.
When
Saturdays: 24 April, 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 May, 24, 31 July, 7, 14, 21 and 28
August 2004.
At: 11am, 12pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm (duration: 30 mins).
We are looking for two session leaders who will cover the session dates
between them.
Location
The Clocktower, Katharine Street, Croydon CR9 1ET.
Pay
£120 per day, gross.
Experience/skills
Required: Experience of leading public events for family audiences.
Awareness of child protection and Health and Safety issues.
Desirable: Basic understanding of science in an educational context.
Status
Required: Able to start work at the Clocktower at 10.30am on
Saturdays and work until approx 4.30pm with a 60 mins lunch break.
Public Liability of £5M or willingness to be paid through PAYE procedures.
Desirable: Up to date Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
