Friends:
First, let me say it was great seeing y'all (or many of y'all) in
Amsterdam, and no, HeFTy is not quite ready yet, but it's getting closer
all the time.
I have a question concerning length measurement procedures: in Laslett et
al. (1982) it was recommended that if a confined horizontal track is
intersected twice (i.e. it passes through two impinging tracks or
cleavages), its length should be counted twice when compiling the length
distribution, as this maintains length biasing. However, I know for a fact
that some labs do not do this (because it's a bit easier said than done),
and I'm wondering if any do. So, if some of you could let me know which
convention your labs follow, on the list or privately (at your option) I'd
be interested to know.
Thanks!
Rich
