Summary
The post holder will be required to supervise and liaise with a graduate
archaeological/material scientist in the design and implementation of an
element testing programme, applying micro-mechanics to the mitigation of in
situ construction damage to archaeological materials, with the ultimate aim of
synthesising stochastic archaeological and geomechanical damage probability
data to provide a decision making tool for archaeologists and engineers.
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent experience in soil mechanics. This
post is tenable for a fixed-term of 3 years, commencing after 1 April 2004.
