My policy, if a firm insist on a phone number when I just want a
brochure or something, is to enter their own phone number so that
they can talk to themselves. Some systems are clever enough to
recognise a false number if insufficient digits are entered and
there is the danger of entering someone else's genuine number
inadvertantly.
