Special Issue Lesbian & Gay Psychology Review
Anti-LGBT Violence and Victimisation: Contemporary perspectives
Guest Editor: Jim McManus
Violence against and victimisation of LGBT people has attracted increasing
cross-disciplinary attention in recent years. We seek an international
flavour and welcome papers from all countries, especially the UK and
developing countries.
· How does victimisation affect LGBT people?
· What interventions are efficacious or promising in prevention and
recovery?
· What insights can psychology offer for the process of recovery
from trauma?
· What can psychologists offer in developing policy and practice?
· What are the current and contemporary methodological advances in
studying victimisation, its sequelae and policy/intervention responses?
· How can psychology engage with other disciplines in any or all of
the above?
Empirical and Review Articles (maximum 6000 words) and commentaries
(maximum 1500 words) addressing these questions are invited. All article
submissions will be peer-reviewed. Commentaries will be reviewed by the
Special Feature Editor and the Editor of Lesbian & Gay Psychology Review.
The deadline for abstract submissions is 1 May 2005 (full papers by 1
August 2005). Informal enquires and submissions should be sent by e-mail
to:
