Call for host for CADE 2006
CADE 2006 – Criteria
The following criteria have been agreed to apply to all institutions bidding
for the 2006 Conference. The criteria have been drawn up to help potential
bidders consider the requirements necessary to run a successful conference. If
your institution is interested in hosting the 2006 Conference, please complete
the following and return to Mark Palmer by 30th April 2004, by mail (Faculty of

Financial
- The College/University will underwrite the cost of the CADE Conference.
- The Cost for individual delegates should not exceed £350 (or equivalent) and
Institutions will be expected to provide a fee structure. This can only be
modified under exceptional circumstances.
- Participants and CADE members should receive a discounted price
- A CADE levy of 5% should be included in the conference fee for all delegates
- Keynote speakers should be offered travelling and accommodation expenses
- The host institution will be responsible for the publication of the
conference proceedings.
Administration
- The institution selected must be a member of CADE
- All Conference bids are to be signed off by one of the following: Vice
Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor or Director/Principal
- Appropriate or subsidised accommodation should be available to students
- There should be least one lecture theatre with all necessary audio- visual
equipment to seat 350 delegates
- At least 4 small, preferably adjacent, seminar/workshop spaces should be
available
- There should be exhibition space for Art/Design exhibition of computer
generated work
- There should be appropriate space for a cybercafe
- A single member of the University/College staff should take responsibility
for the organization of the Conference, probably from the Art/Design faculty.
The institution will provide time and facilities for this person to undertake
this task
- A description of the catering facilities provided for delegates
-A description of the timetable and procedures used to referee papers, edit and
publish proceedings will be required as a part of the submission. We expect the
publication of the full conference proceedings to coincide with the conference
itself.
- The CADE General Committee shall be consulted and its approval gained before
the publication of proceedings.
The CADE Organising Committee will produce a short list of Institutions based
upon the above criteria by May 2004 and all the selected Institutions will be
informed as soon as possible and invited to make a presentation to the
committee during the 2004 conference (29 June – 1 July). We expect to make a
decision for announcement during the CADE 2004 Conference. The CADE General
Committee shall be consulted about all publications before the Conference and
should approve all formats before distribution.
