Hi,
We've used MS Producer but we're looking at a number of translation
tools from Powerpoint into Flash, Java etc, to reduce the need for new
skill sets in academic staff. Impatica is one solution that I've used
for a while (www.impatica.co.uk) but we're going for I-Create
(www.p4you.com) that converts Ppt into Flash and allows addition of
SCORM compliant quizzes and assessments. Both have the added benefit of
compressing files very effectively for web delivery and Flash is
self-streaming. We've just got Viewlet Builder (also from p4you) and
find it terrific for creating teaching, training and assessment
materials from screen capture shots - also enables SCORM compliant
quizzes etc. Viewlet Builder is under the CHEST agreement and I-Create
should be before long. I've used Boxmind before and I'm not a great
fan, although the latest version is an improvement.
Hope this is useful.
Cheers

Is any one using Microsoft Producer to create multimedia presentations
(freeware) rather than something like BoxMind (expensive)? From our
initial analysis, Producer looks pretty useful. I would be keen to know
of experiences/thoughts.
