The African American Studies and Research Program (AASRP) at the
University of Illinois announces a tenure-track position in African
American literature, effective August 16, 2005. We are seeking to hire
an Assistant Professor whose Ph.D. is in hand by August 1, 2005. The
position is part of a multi-year expansion and enhancement of the AASRP,
a unit with significant strengths in the study of African American
resistance, internationalism, gender and Black women's studies, as well
as race and popular culture. Further information on AASRP is available

African American literature across a number of time periods. Research
