Wolverhampton Art Gallery in all aspects of museum and gallery work. The
post is part time and includes the fees for an MA in Museums Studies at
Leicester University.

POSITIVE ACTION TRAINEESHIP
Two year traineeship starting March 2004
3½ days a week (24.5 hours), Scale 3 (pro rata is £8992 pa.)
Wolverhampton Arts & Museums Service is offering a traineeship to an
individual from the African-Caribbean, Asian or Chinese communities who are
currently under-represented in our workforce. This traineeship is supported
by the Museums Association and Re:source, The Council for Museums, Archives
and Libraries as part of the Diversify! initiative.
Joining the team at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, you will work part-time to
increase access to Wolverhampton's nationally important fine and decorative
art collections and exhibitions, and combine this with studying for a
postgraduate MA in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester.
Winner of five national awards, Wolverhampton Art Gallery has recently been
completely refurbished creating new exhibitions and lifelong learning
facilities.
You will need to demonstrate an interest in a career in museums and
galleries, an enthusiasm for art and a commitment to communicating that
imaginatively. You should have an awareness of cultural diversity issues
and
be an effective team worker. You also need to possess a first or second
class honours degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject.
