We are looking to categorise mice, joysticks and switches on a database. The
definition we currently have is:
1. Switch – a single degree of freedom control which may be on/off or
proportional.
2. Joystick – A multiple degree of freedom controller which may be on/off
or proportional.
However, it may be more appropriate to categorise as follows:
1. Switch – an on/off device which has one or more degrees of freedom.
2. Joystick – a proportional device with multiple degrees of freedom.
The first definition would classify the TASH mini joystick as a 'joystick'
while the second would classify it as a 'switch' as in the TASH catalogue.
I ask this so that when someone uses the database to search for a switch or
joystick they will see the correct devices listed.
