Have you looked at the Stairmatic?, produced by Baronmead (www.baronmead.com
) This is a compact, stairclimbing chair, alternative more supportive seats
and harnesses can be fitted to requirements.
The system does require a sensible, reasonably fit person to operate it,
there is no opportunity for occupant to control this unit.
Baronmead will come out and demo in situ to the person who is to operate as
a matter of course. I have used them in the Social Services situation many
times and found them reliable. Units can also be hired I believe, for short
term needs.
Good luck ! Pam
