(with apologies for cross-posting)
TASI (JISC's Technical Advisory Service for Images) is pleased to announce
three new dates for our 2004 workshop training programme:
http://www.tasi.ac.uk/training/
***Image Capture - Beginners
Tuesday 25th May 2004, Bristol
Provides an introduction and overview of digital imaging and includes
practical exercises using a scanner and digital camera. Just the thing to
get you past all the digital jargon and using the equipment effectively in
your day to day work. This is the first in a series of three TASI image
capture workshops.
***Image Capture - Intermediate

The Intermediate course is for those who have taken the Beginners course or
have some experience of image capture. It introduces more advanced
scanning and image optimisation techniques as well as monitor calibration
and the calculation of scanner resolution settings.
***Digital Rights Management - Practical Approaches to Securing and
Protecting Copyright
Wednesday 7th July 2004, Bristol
Starting with copyright law, we highlight the copyright clearance
obligations within different types of digital images, and offer practical
approaches to the task of obtaining copyright permissions. We also show
attendees several practical methods protecting copyright within a digital
environment. Throughout the day we examine various contracts and end user
